Whipped Tallow & Honey Face Cream — 120g
Tallow that actually absorbs. The nourishment of a tallow balm, in a cream light enough to wear under makeup.
Going through it fast? The two-jar bundle is A$52 instead of A$59.90.
What it is
A whipped moisturiser built on grass-fed beef tallow, raw honey extract and cold-pressed olive oil — softened with shea butter, squalane and calendula, and whipped with water into a cream. 120ml / 4oz.
That last part is the whole point. Most tallow products are straight rendered fat: nourishing, but heavy, slow to sink in, and impossible to wear under makeup. Whipping tallow into a water-based cream keeps the lipid profile and loses the grease.
Why tallow
Tallow's fatty acid profile is unusually close to the lipids human skin makes itself, and it naturally carries vitamins A, D, E and K. Skin that reacts to almost everything else tends to get along with it.
Every ingredient, and what it's for
- Water — the base the oils are whipped into; this is what makes it a cream rather than a balm
- Grass-fed tallow — fatty acids close to skin's own lipids; naturally carries vitamins A, D, E and K
- Squalane — lightweight slip, a large part of why it disappears so fast
- Tocopherol (vitamin E) — keeps the oils from going off
- Olive & coconut oil — cold-pressed softening oils
- Shea butter — richness for the dry patches
- Calendula extract — long used on stressed, reactive skin
- Honey extract — draws moisture in and holds it there
- Cetearyl alcohol — a fatty alcohol; it's what keeps oil and water bound together
- Ethylhexylglycerin — gentle preservative; anything with water in it needs one
As printed on the jar: WATER, TALLOW, SQUALANE, TOCOPHEROL, OLIVE OIL, COCONUT OIL, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA BUTTER), CALENDULA OFFICINALIS EXTRACT, HONEY EXTRACT, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN.
No added fragrance, no essential oils, no dyes.
How to use
- Take a pea-sized scoop. Clean fingertip, small amount. It goes much further than a conventional moisturiser, and too much is the only way to make it feel heavy.
- Press into damp skin. Straight after cleansing, while your face is still slightly wet. Press rather than rub — it spreads on its own.
- Give it thirty seconds. Then makeup, sunscreen, or bed. Also good on hands, elbows and heels.
Good to know
- Unscented, but tallow and honey have a faint natural warmth of their own that fades within a minute or two.
- One 120g jar lasts most people two to three months on the face.
- Made for sensitive skin. Patch test first if you're reactive.
- Not suitable for vegans — tallow is rendered beef fat and honey extract comes from bees.
This is a cosmetic moisturiser, not a therapeutic product. It is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any condition.
